2. Only the above seven tournaments will earn players points in the MALTA RANKING LIST (MRL). For example, Satellite tournaments, which are not open to the first 100 FISTF-ranked players, will not earn points for the MRL (although they generate points for the FISTF Ranking List). The principle is that no-one is precluded from taking part in tournaments which generate MRL points.

3. All MRL tournaments are also open for foreign players.

4. After the seventh tournament, which this year will be the GP to be held on 20 March 2004, the MRL is closed for the season. The National League will then be played as follows:
MRL players ranked 1 to 8 will play in National League Class A
MRL players ranked 9 to 16 will play in National League Class B
MRL players ranked 17 to 24 will play in National League Class C
and so on.

The organisers will decide how many classes will be played and also the method to be used (eg round robin, or 2 groups of 4, etc.)

When the National League Classes are played, the position obtained will determine the FINAL RANKING LIST (FRL) for the season and at that stage, the Malta Ranking List will not have any further effect.

Participation in World Cup and any similar competitions will be based as follows:

Malta world cup place number 1 : Player ranked number 1 in FINAL RANKING LIST.
Malta world cup place number 2 : Player who wins the March Grand Prix.
Malta world cup place number 3 : Player ranked number 2 in FINAL RANKING LIST.
Malta world cup place number 4 : Player ranked number 3 in FINAL RANKING LIST.
and so on.

Any comments on the above proposal are welcome by all on our
discussion board
